Long Beach native and posh-coast reject, Jo Pausic, wants you to dance barefoot with him. The singer-songwriter’s soulful compositions vacillate between mournful and raucous, inviting all to imbibe. Pairing the voice of a darling with the passions of a demon, he’s probably skulking at your favorite watering hole right now. His musical oeuvre is contained in a triptych (at least) of characters he posses at-will. Potentially indie folk, he ports a Western crooner attitude. By turns reclusive charmer and bombastic party boy, he’s finally come around to taking you to church.
A Note on the Political Climate:
I’d like to take this wide-spread opportunity to speak my thoughts to everyone that I have wanted to
share this recording with. The political arena is rife with volatility and deception, and it has never been
more important to seek participation in the building and workings of society. I believe this starts with
education, and that education requires certain ideological tools to ward off disillusion, advance critical
thinking, and create the foundation for wisdom through truth. Trump is the tip of the iceberg, and his
circus should not distract from more deep-set atrocities rampant in our country. Nothing is above us, as
much as is said otherwise. We may not write the history, but we will decide it.
Here are some resources I have found that, if nothing else, promote the propagation of truth-seeking
Al Jazeera – An informative national news source
– An introductory interview with Noam Chomsky, a
revered bastion of substantiation and intellectual inquiry
Understanding Power: The Indispensable Noam Chomsky – An enlightening collection of interviews from
the 90s with Dr. Chomsky
Here are some movements that I support and believe are striving to make a positive difference. There
are so many individuals that are active now and speaking up for a real concept of freedom. If you
think you’re alone or that no one is fighting, you just need to look around. Revolutions may
sometimes be fueled by social media but they happen in the streets.
